Jonathan Perry is married to his high school sweet heart, Christine LeBeouf, and the father of four: Molli (9), Meredith (9), Major (5) and Marlee (1). He has lived his entire life right here in Senate District 26. As State Representative, Jonathan has fought hard to create jobs, lower taxes and reduce the size of government in Louisiana.
"As a husband and father of four I care deeply about the future direction of our state. It is important that we have conservative leadership in the state senate now more than ever as we face the looming budget crisis," said Perry.
Representative Perry has represented House District 47 (Cameron & Vermilion Parish) since being elected in 2007 and has served on the Ways and Means, Criminal Justice and Agriculture Committees.
"When elected, I will serve the people of Senate District 26 with the same passion, energy and dedication as I have as State Representative," added Perry.
Perry has been appointed and currently serves on: The Louisiana Commission on Family and Marriage, The Louisiana Energy Council – for the National Association of Legislators and the Governor's Task Force on D.W.I. and Vehicular Homicide.
Representative Perry has been named a "Legis-Gator" by The Chamber Southwest Louisiana for the past three years as well as being named "Outstanding Family Advocate" by the Louisiana Family Forum for the past three years. In 2009 Perry received the annual "Life and Liberty Award".
Representative Perry began his public service as Police officer in Kaplan. Perry served from 2002-2006 on the Kaplan City council where he was chairman of the Finance Committee. Upon completion of Law School Perry began a private practice in addition to serving as an assistant district attorney for the 15th Judicial District Court.
Representative Perry has served as the Chairman of the Acadiana Delegation of the Louisiana Legislature for the past three years.
